Queens of Pain

Queens of Pain (QoP) is a women-led cycling community on a mission to increase diversity within cycling. We want to get as many cis women, trans and enbies on bikes as we can and that starts with making these groups feel comfortable, confident and supported. Our aim is for our rides to be a gateway for people to grow and go off on their own adventures, increasing representation in the outdoors industry.

Our core rides are every Wednesday at 7pm from various locations around Edinburgh - these rides are specifically for for women and non-binary folks, run at a no-drop, party pace and are mostly under 20km distance. We also hold Mixed Mondays which are the first Monday of each month, where we open up spaces to our guy pals too. At least once a month we run our Queens of Pain au Chocolat rides. These rides are run like our Wednesday rides but are at the weekend, we start with coffee and are occasionally slightly longer than 20km.

The best way to find out more about us is through our Website: www.queensofpain.cc or on Instagram: @queens.of.pain.cc

Edinburgh School of Rocks

A woman and non-binary led community with a toolkit to empower everyone to find joy in off-road cycling. We typically meet on a Tuesday around the centre of Edinburgh between 6 and 6.30pm for our summertime weekly ‘term time’ rides which involve finding gravel around the city; be it the Braids, Dalmeny Estate or Craigmiller Park. The vibes are always ‘party pace’ and usually involve stopping points for the ride leaders to talk through how to ride a section of the trail before everyone gets to give it a go!

We’re currently found on Instagram @edinburghschoolofrocks but if you’re not on there contact Hervelo and we’ll put you in touch!

Edinburgh Gravel Club

Edinburgh Gravel is a friendly mixed community of gravel cyclists in Edinburgh and the surrounds. We ride most Thursday nights, leaving the city around 6:30pm, and many weekends too. Our rides are generally of an intermediate level upwards: no-one gets left behind and there’s lots of chat and laughter, but some rides can be a bit of an adventure and some off road confidence is necessary.

Our broader WhatsApp community has over 200 members, with people swapping tools, sharing advice, and generally helping each other out with our love of gravel cycling and the broader cycling community.

Ronde Cycling Club

A cycling club based in Stockbridge. We have club rides on Saturday mornings, offering a variety of different pace bands and routes. Social rides on Wednesday mornings. A weekly pace line training ride on Tuesday nights. Laps of Arthur's Seat on Thursday nights. Monthly longer rides. Although primarily a road cycling club we have grown to encompass gravel rides, bike packing, long distance events and racing (the more mud the better). A welcoming club with something for everyone!

Livingston Cycling Club

We are a local, welcoming and friendly cycling club with over 180 members providing group rides for varying abilities, with options of either road and gravel on offer every week. We aim to cater for the needs of our members, from experienced riders to those just looking to meet like-minded folk. Whether you have the latest high spec road bike, flat handlebars, recumbent or MTB, we will make you welcome and support you on our club rides. We support new riders, slower riders, and beginners alike, and we never leave a rider behind. In addition to the regular weekly ride programme, we organise away days during the summer.
