Our rides are social rides and not guided rides, they are organised by club members, and you are responsible for yourself.
We go out in all weathers but on the odd occasion we may need to cancel rides at short notice, check here for any updates before the ride.
Ride sign ups are the bottom of each event. If you have signed up but can no longer come on a ride, please let us know either by email or social media and we’ll pass that on to the ride leader.

Before joining a ride please familarise yourself with our ride etiquette. This is to keep everyone safe out on the roads and trails.

Please note that we often take pictures on our rides to share here on the website or on the club’s social media pages. Please let the ride leader know if you are uncomfortable with this before the ride.
When you sign up for a ride your details will be visible to our ride leaders and will be deleted shortly after the ride. It will only be used to contact you about that specific ride or in case of an emergency on the ride.

Road to Biggar
Where to: To Biggar via the Laurel Bank Tea Rooms
How far: 100km, 1000m ⬆️
What pace: 23-25 kph average, no drop ride. This is faster than our Open to All Rides at the start of the month, however, no one will be dropped.
We’ll aim to keep moving as much as possible but we’ll regroup at the top of climbs and you’ll also have help if there’s a mechanical in the group!

Gypsy Glen - MTB Ride Leaders Celebration Ride
Where to: To celebrate four Hérvelo members gaining their Mountain Bike Leader qualifications this year we thought we'd celebrate with a Tweed Valley classic XC loop - Gypsy Glen! This loop features some stunning views and a real sense of adventure. Although the route is graded blue, it features some steeper, rockier, more rutted natural trail than you might encounter in a trail centre. The climb up is tough (we will all be walking at points!) but we'll get through it together. Please come dressed for exposed terrain and changeable weather.
How far: Approximately 2-3 hours on the trails
What pace: Social, no drop pace.
Any stops: We'll finish with a celebratory coffee and cake lunch stop! Bring snacks for the ride.

Pump(tracks) and a Pint
Where to: We’ll meet at the new Roslin Pump track for a pump, spin over to the other new track in Rosewell followed by a pint at Stewart’s Brewing.
A BMX bike would be ideal but most of us will be on our mountain bikes, gravel bikes welcome too!
How far: Approximately 15km
Any stops: None planned, remember snacks but we’ll head for a pint and pizza afterwards!

Where to: A hilly one over the Meldons to Peebles then onto Innerleithen (for coffee) and back via the Granites
How far: Approx. 90km with 1000m of climbing

Cross is Coming! - Bonnyrigg
Where to: A mini cyclocross style loop around Bonnyrigg parks to get us in tip top shape for the 2025/26 cyclocross season. This will be a skills based session with some race simulations in a format to suit a mixed ability group. It’s been a super dry spring/summer so any off-road bike will be suitable.
It is NOT a coached session, it’s a skills practice session.

How far: The loop won’t be more than 1 km. We’ll be doing various training drills in a short circuit for about 1 - 1.5 hours. We’ll predominantly be riding on grass with some short sections of single track.
What pace: This will be a skills focussed training ride but that will include some “race pace” drills. The circuit will be short and the session will suitable for a range of abilities from beginners to CX regulars!

Bonaly Gravel Smashfest
Where to: Pentlands and Currie
How far: Approximately 15km
What pace: This is a training ride that will be suitable for all fitness levels, however, we won’t be stopping to look at features etc so you will need to be reasonably confident off-road. We’ll have set segments where the goal is to ride as fast you can (want). We’ll regroup after every effort and roll together until the next segment. Although this is a training ride, please respect other trail/road users, give way as necessary and ride within your limits.

Callendar Estate - Blues & Reds
Where to: Blue & red trails around Callendar Estate
How far: Approximately 2-3 hours on the trails
What pace: Social, no drop pace.
Any stops: Cafe planned but might be at the end of the ride so bring plenty of snacks.
Route link: Exact route will be decided on the day but there won’t be anything more technical than a red trail. Red trails at Callendar Park are easier than most Tweed Valley reds so a good progression beyond Blue trails without too much of a jump.

Falkirk High Train Station is just under 2 miles up the road and there’s also bike hire available from Greenrig Bikes.

Innerleithen - Reds and Blacks
Where to: Red and easier Black trails around Innerleithen
How far: Approximately 2 hours on the trails
What pace: Social, no drop pace suitable for riders that are already comfortable on red trails and looking to progress to some easier black trails.
Any stops: Bring plenty of food for the ride, option to stay for coffee/lunch afterwards.

Less big gravel ride
Where to: Scots Pine near Eddleston via Gladhouse. Mostly good gravel tracks with a few short sections on grassy fields.
How far: 42km, 500m ↑
What pace: Faster than our night rides, with less stops but we’ll regroup at the top and bottom of climbs/descents. Not suitable for complete beginners but there won’t be anything too technical.
Any stops: Yes! We’ll pop into the Scots Pine cafe for some food and a coffee.

Where to: Glassie Bunkhouse for a weekend of riding!

Sunday: Glassie bike park before people need to head home. Options for blue/red or black trails.
